Hi Brion,

A defect is something that is broken, where as a change is a request to modify an existing — and defined — behaviour.

A defect says that the current behaviour of the platform doesn’t match the agreed requirements — i.e. it should be working differently aleady, it’s defective.

A change says that the requirements have been updated (i.e. because we realised it could be better if it worked differently), and therefore the behaviour of the platform needs to be changed to reflect this.
